KHM Travel Agent Spotlight: Jami Turner

It is fitting that this month’s Featured Pinnacle Agent, Jami Turner, named her agency The Travel Fanatic. A self-proclaimed travel junkie, she traveled all over the world even before launching her Texas-based travel business in April 2014.
She admits that it’s hard to pick her favorite destination or most memorable trip, because all travel is her favorite.
“It is my greatest passion!” Jami says. “I was becoming an empty-nester and wanted something to do in my spare time.”
When she started out, she was concerned she wouldn’t be able to find clients. However, her years of travel experience paid off, and she found clients coming to her almost immediately. She even booked her first cruise before completing her startup education in KHM Travel’s online Portal.
Her agency grew quickly, and she reached KHM Travel’s Pinnacle Elite Agent program in September of 2015. She’s been able to rely on word of mouth and advertising on her agency’s Facebook page to promote herself as a travel expert.
“I have a great deal of credibility with my clients and they trust my suggestions and opinions,” Jami adds. “It is one thing to book a trip for someone, and another to be able to say, “If it were me, I would stay here and do this or that because I have been there and done it myself.””
As far as her own travels, Jami points to a tour of Thailand and Hong Kong as one of her most memorable trips. She recently returned from an 11-day cruise through the Mediterranean out of Barcelona on the Norwegian Epic.
In the past year, she’s also sailed on three Caribbean cruises and one cruise through New England and Canada.
Because she loves travel of any kind, she doesn’t limit herself to a specialty, but her business centers around cruises, all-inclusives, and FIT European trips.
In terms of being an agent, sharing her love of travel with her clients comes naturally. She genuinely enjoys walking them through the planning process, what to expect on their vacation, and even what to pack!
For Jami, having that first-hand knowledge and access to support, is key to seeing positive results. She advises new agents to know the information before passing it along to their clients, and not to be afraid to ask for help, whether that be from the KHM Travel Support Team or from our Preferred Suppliers.
Luckily for Jami, she’s found a career that she’s passionate about that also allows her to spend her free time doing what she loves – traveling!
“I LOVE having my home-based travel agency,” says Jami. “It is extremely rewarding and has allowed me to do more of my favorite hobby which is to travel more!”
