KHM Travel Agents Rock at October Destination Success
Written by: Amanda Bates on October 14, 2015
Last week, more than 80 travel agents ventured to our home office from around the country for 2015’s second Destination Success, our largest to date.
In fact, we had one agent travel all the way from Hawaii!
To make it worth the journey, we had training and networking sessions with 20+ suppliers and our corporate staff. And over the course of four days, the agents had plenty of time to get to know each other, swap stories, and share business tips!
Wednesday kicked off with the supplier trade show and welcoming remarks from President/CEO Rick Zimmerman and National Training Director Marie Smith. Throughout the day there were presentations from ARC Fraud Prevention, MLT Vacations/Delta Vacations, Vacation Express and Apple Vacations.
Later on in the afternoon, attendees earned their Sandals Specialist certificates with a half-day workshop that covered all of Sandals‘ resorts and programs.
We were lucky enough to have Destination Success coincide with the Hard Rock Genesis training in Northeast Ohio. On Thursday night, agents and several KHM Travel staff took a field trip up to the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Cleveland.
We were given the VIP treatment, with the entire main floor of the restaurant dedicated to our group. Agents enjoyed complimentary food and refreshments before a high-energy, playful presentation from our Travel Impressions and Hard Rock BDMs.
After they learned about Hard Rock’s All-Inclusive Experiences, the dance floor was open! The highlight of this very lively evening was dance-off at the end, in which one of our agents, Jean Murphy, boogied her way to a 3-night Hard Rock stay and airfare compliments of Travel Impressions.
Agency Director Burt Kramer then got the agents fired up, discussing the three steps to Becoming a Travel Agent Rockstar. Stay tuned for more information on a new training opportunity that Burt revealed at the end of his presentation!
Friday night was full of intrigue (and more than a few laughs) at the Murder Mystery dinner, presented by Murderous Mayhem. Our National Training Director Marie surprised the crowd with a special appearance in the show – and she turned out to be the culprit!
Training featuring the Globus Family of Brands and a Compliance Update from Rick Zimmerman and Marie rounded out October’s Destination Success on Saturday morning.
“Destination Success is worth the investment into yourself and your travel business,” said Sharon from Virginia. “Still two days to go and I can’t find the words to express how impressed I am with the training, presenters and KHM staff…Class Act all the way.”
We hope that all the attendees have returned home inspired, energized and committed to applying what you’ve learned to your businesses! Attendees, feel free to share your feedback with our staff or through the Agents-Only Facebook group – we appreciate your opinions.
“Wow! Destination success has been a life-changing and business-changing experience!” said Traci from Oklahoma. “Not only did we get great tools but we made some friends that I know will be friends for life! Thank you KHM for this awesome experience!”
We strive to bring as much value to our live training sessions as possible, and we could not have asked for more from our suppliers, staff, and Mrs. C’s catering team. Thanks to all who put the ‘success’ in Destination Success!
