Set Sail on the New Norwegian Encore

Something exciting is hitting the seas this fall: the Norwegian Encore! The cruise world is anxiously awaiting the chance to see the ship firsthand this November when it sets sail on its inaugural cruise along with its godmother, Kelly Clarkson. Encore Entertainment
True to its name, the ship’s encore-worthy entertainment includes the Tony Award® winning musical, Kinky Boots. With lyrics by Cyndi Lauper, this upbeat show about people from all walks of life coming together, all in heels.
Along with Kinky Boots, the Encore will also feature The Choir of Man. This high-energy show transports audiences to The Jungle, an English pub where the cast performs crowd favorites, from classic rock to sing-along favorites. The Cavern Club, named after the birthplace of The Beatles in Liverpool, continues the English theme with evening performances by a Beatles cover band.
For a taste of the Big Easy, Happy Hour Prohibition: The Musical welcomes guests to Madam Lulu’s New Orleans speakeasy. While guests sip on one of their favorite classic cocktails, the madams retell stories of bootleggers and dance to the era’s most popular tunes.
What’s Onboard?
Beyond the Encore’s shows, there is plenty more to do, especially for teens! The Speedway is back onboard, giving guests the chance to try go-carts at sea. The ship will also feature a laser tag arena, and the Galaxy Pavilion, an immersive virtual reality experience with simulation rides, an escape room, and more.
Foodies looking to take advantage of the Encore’s specialty dining will want to make a reservation at Onda, Norwegian’s new modern Italian restaurant. For dinner and a show, Teppanyaki boasts authentic Japanese hibachi. Along with Norwegian favorites like Cagney’s Steakhouse and Food Republic, there are options on board to please every palette.
Where will the Encore Sail?
The Norwegian Encore sets sail this November and will spend the rest of 2019 and early 2020 sailing the Caribbean, New England, and the Panama Canal and Costa Rica before transitioning to the Pacific Coast and Alaska for the 2020 season.
