“I want adventure in the great wide somewhere!” This famous line from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has become a motto for many of us who love to travel and take vacations. Especially now, there are many of us developing serious travitude while we await our next opportunity to go…somewhere. Anywhere.
Virtual tours, podcasts, and Instagram scrolling have helped us through the delay of our travels over the last few months. If you are like us, your favorite hobby has been dreaming about the places you’ll visit next. Here are a few vacations we’d love to be on right now.
1. Snorkeling in Hawaii
For many travelers, snorkeling is a dream excursion, and Hawaii is one of the top places in the world to try it! The chance to dive below the waves and see an underwater world up close makes for memorable vacation moments. So often photos and videos don’t do justice to seeing the vibrant colors and energy of a reef in person.
2. Swimming with the Pigs in The Bahamas
Did you know you can swim with pigs in the Bahamas? This experience is unique to the islands, and it’s safe and fun for both pigs and people! This experience can be found on Big Major Cay, an uninhabited island that can easily be reached from Nassau and The Exumas. Swimming with the pigs is also an excursion at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
3. Stargazing in Utah
The wide-open spaces and low light pollution make national parks ideal locations for stargazing. Natural Bridges National Monument in Utah tops the list, as the first .international dark-sky park in the world. This prestigious distinction, earned in 2007 from the International Dark-Sky Association, recognizes the park’s world-class stargazing opportunities as well as its commitment to preserving the darkness through educational programs and responsible outdoor lighting.
4. Relaxing in Cabo
After a few stressful months, all we want is to lay back in a hammock and put our feet up for a few days. And what better place to do that than the warm, sunny shores of Cabo San Lucas. This destination has warm weather year-round, vibrant nightlife, and gourmet dining options for a world-class dinner after a day of R&R.
5. Hiking in New England
As the leaf-peeping season grows near, we are dreaming about hiking through the colorful foliage found throughout New England. Add in the fresh apple and pumpkin desserts of the season for one of the quintessential autumn vacations.
