Checking the mail each day may seem like a chore, but for travel agent Kathy Grayson a simple trip to the mailbox landed her a spot on KHM Travel Group’s 2017 Crystal Awards Cruise.
Kathy Grayson of Run Free Travel in Clarksville, Tennessee submitted her prize-winning photo as part of our “Show Us Your Compass” photo contest. The contest asked KHM Travel Agents to post a photo (with the hashtag #MyKHMCompass) that showed how they read The Compass Magazine.
We received a variety of photos with agents in different destinations and fun situations, but Kathy’s genuine enthusiasm stood out from the rest.
She attributes the win to her “facial expression and lovely hair” and credits her neighbor’s amusement at her frequent trips to the mailbox for the photo inspiration.
The photo shows Kathy’s excitement to finally get her hands on the magazine, but she was even more excited when she heard she had won.
“I started dancing around (in my pjs), looked at the email again to make sure I read it correctly, called my husband (he initially didn’t believe me) and started dancing again.”
This special cruise will give Kathy a chance to meet and build relationships with Business Development Managers from all of KHM Travel Group’s Preferred Suppliers, along with her fellow travel agents. It will also provide a much-deserved break from her busy family life.
The 2017 Crystal Awards won’t be Kathy’s first travel agent event. Since joining the KHM Travel Group family in January 2015, Kathy has attended a regional event this past June and the Mark Travel Summit in Mexico last October. She has also reserved her spot for Delta Vacations University this September in Atlanta.
When asked if she has any tips for agents for future photo contests she suggests to keep it authentic.
“Have fun with it – people react with expression and real life. Oh and take lots of pics and choose your favorite.”
Kathy is looking forward to seeing fellow travel agent friends and meeting new ones at the Crystal Awards Cruise and so are we!
