The learning at KHM Travel Group’s Boot Camps doesn’t stop when the last session wraps up. Through Extensions of Learning, we’re giving travel advisors the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and into the experiences they sell. These exclusive trips help agents turn knowledge into action and growth.
Extensions of Learning are designed to mirror the full client journey. Leading up to each trip, agents complete pre-work exercises and participate in Zoom sessions that walk through the planning process. Learning objectives include: building familiarity with the product, understanding the full planning timeline, and completing booking tasks.
Once in destination or onboard, education sessions continue. This allows agents to engage directly with the product they will later recommend to clients.
After returning home, participants gather their post-trip insights into resources they can begin using with clients. Members of the Education Team guide attendees throughout the entire process. They provide personalized feedback and advice at every step.
“We want our agents to experience travel the same way their clients will,” said Education Manager Carolyn Orf. “While traveling, agents learn the atmosphere and pace of the product and often visit new cities or ports. When you’ve walked through the process, navigated the details, and experienced it firsthand, you show up more informed and confident in front of your clients.”
Boot Camp 1.0 graduates can select between land and cruise options depending on which best matches their business goals. This year’s trips for Boot Camp 1.0 graduates include a Royal Caribbean Wonder of Seas sailing in September or a stay at Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana in November.
Boot Camp 2.0 graduates have the chance to practice a more in-depth itinerary, typically of a European river cruise. In 2026, the Boot Camp 2.0 Extension of Learning is the Avalon Danube Dreams for Wine Lovers river cruise in November.
More Than Education
Education isn’t the only benefit to these unique trips. It’s also an opportunity to strengthen the bonds formed during Boot Camp. Agents exchange ideas and build a network to support long-term success.
