As a travel agent, Vineet Unadkat knows what really matters to his business. It’s what makes his profession so enjoyable, and what keeps him motivated.

It’s not the income, or travel perks. It’s the thing some business owners lose sight of in the process of trying to earn a living: their customers.

vineetheadshot Vineet is based in California and is a relatively new agent. He joined KHM Travel Group just two years ago, after his wife noticed how much energy he put into planning his own trips. She jokingly suggested he become a travel agent, and he took the hint.

Within a year of becoming an agent, Vineet had reached $100,000 in total traveled revenue, which qualified him for our Pinnacle Elite program.

He started out focusing on airline bookings, but has become a romance travel specialist through our LoveShack Vacations brand. He is now an expert at planning romantic getaways in Mexico and the Caribbean.

Weddings, honeymoons, and anniversary trips are among the most memorable events of a couple’s life, which is why it’s crucial for agents in this niche to have a client-driven attitude, like Vineet.

“Customer satisfaction is my favorite part of the job,” says Vineet. “I just love it when I get a client to say ‘thank you so much for the trip, we loved every single bit of it’… just to hear this makes me feel so proud and fuels me up for the next ones.”

Attending our Boot Camp live training session in 2014 made all the difference in his business. According to Vineet, it opened many doors for him, and gave him the confidence he needed to build his client base.

It’s one thing to gain new customers, but Vineet’s thorough research and attention to detail is what keeps his clients happy, booking after booking.

“I provide all the support that I can give to my clients until they return back from their trip. I follow up with the clients on their trip to make sure that they are indeed enjoying and not disappointed with the choice of booking their trip with me,” says Vineet.

What is his secret? Staying focused on clients’ needs, and finding them the best value.

“Do not go after the commission,” Vineet advises. “The commission is sure to come if you focus on customer satisfaction.”
