Coming Soon: The Celebrity Apex
Written by: Sydney M Crago on October 29, 2019
A common question asked in the travel industry is, “what does the modern traveler want?” Celebrity Cruises’ answer to this question is the Celebrity Apex. Setting Sail in April of 2020, the hype for this new Edge® series ship is building, and here’s why!
What’s onboard the Celebrity Apex?
Celebrity’s Infinite Verandas are back on the Apex. Balcony cabins feature floor to ceiling glass doors, giving guests a stunning sea view, with the option to open the doors and enclose the balcony, expanding the cabin space. Or, for a more indulgent option, there are a number of suite accommodations for guests to consider, which give guests access to The Retreat®. The Retreat is an exclusive area of the ship that features a lounge with live entertainment, a pool bar, and private cabanas.
Along with the ship’s stunning accommodations, Apex will also include the Magic Carpet, a moveable platform that extends over the ship’s edge and adds to the view and perspective of each deck it visits. Guests can experience the Magic Carpet while dining in one of the ships remarkable dining areas.
Apex welcomes guests to experience relaxation and wellness during their cruise at the fitness center, jogging track, or Sea Thermal Suite. The Sea Thermal Suite is a space inspired by nature to allows guests to choose from eight distinctive therapeutic experiences. Paired with the treatments available at The Spa, you’re sure to find yourself in true vacation mode.
Where will this ship sail?
The Celebrity Apex will set sail for its inaugural cruise on April 5, 2020, as it travels along the coast of Spain and Portugal. From there, it will continue to sail European itineraries through the summer and early fall, before transitioning to the Caribbean for the late fall and winter season of 2020.
That means, that if you are looking for a European escape or a Caribbean sailing on this ship, it’s best to book early as spots are limited and the itineraries are in high demand.
The Accessible Apex
One of the most important elements of the Celebrity Apex is that it will be accessible from bow to stern. Designed with everyone in mind, this ship can be boarded with ease and offers accessible staterooms for those with mobility issues. Along with being physically accessible, the Celebrity Apex will include sensory-friendly films and toys, overall autism-friendly training for Camp at Sea, and dietary menu options to accommodate all cruisers.
Don’t Want to Wait for the Apex?
While the launch of this new ship is exciting, you may not want to wait until next year to take your Celebrity Cruise. Luckily, the Apex has a sister ship already sailing the high seas, the Celebrity Edge. The Edge, launched in 2018, was the cruise line’s first Edge® series ship. Like the Apex, the Edge has the Magic Carpet, Infinite Verandas, and Rooftop Garden that are unique to this class of ships.
Paired with the high level of service, refined culinary offerings, and incredible onboard experiences that Celebrity Cruises has come to be known, both the Edge and the Apex are ideal for your next cruise.
